POLLUTION AND MANAGEMENT

Pollution
is the introduction of contamination in to the natural environment that cause adverse change. Pollution can take form of chemical substances, energy or noise. Pollution forms ( types) : land, water , air and noise.
Waste managements
includes all the activities and actions required to manage waste from its creation to its final disposal. Waste managements includes collection, transportation and waste treatment.  Waste management is intended to reduce adverse effects of waste on health and environment.

Desertification
is a types of land degradation in which a relatively dry area of lands becomes increasingly arid ,typically loosing its bodies of water, vegetation and wildlife. It is the process in which the fertile land is demanded and degraded to produce or initiate desert.
Causes

  • overgrazing
  • deforestation
  • outdated and unsuitable agricultural techniques
  • overpopulation
  • climate change
  • famine
  • poverty
  • political instability
in Tanzania area like western and northern regions of Dodoma, Singida ,Tabora,Kigoma,Arusha, Mara,Shinyanga, Mwanza.

IMPACTS OF POLLUTION AND WASTE MANAGEMENT

  1. Loss of fertility
  2. vegetation damage or destroyed
  3. soil erosion
  4. disasters
  5. pollution of water resources
  6. famine poverty and starvation
  7. extinction of species
  8. economic loss etc
ENVIRONMENTAL CONSERVATION
  • Destocking.
  • afforestation and reforestation
  • control industrial gases and industrial sewage
  • practicing proper irrigation skills
  • control of industrial fertilizers instead of depending on industrial fertilizers we can use manures.
  • to control fishing activities

ENVIRONMENTAL PROBLEMS

ENVIRONMENTAL PROBLEMS

Refers to the known processes that have negative effects on the sustainability of the environmental quality necessary for the well being of the organism living in it. the main environmental problems facing the earth include the following;

  • pollution
  • overpopulation
  • global warming
  • waste disposal
  • climate change
  • loss of biodiversity
  • desertification
  • ocean solidification
  • ozone layer depletion
  • acid rain
  • natural disaster
  • overgrazing etc

ENVIRONMENT AND IMPORTANCE OF ENVIRONMENT

ENVIRONMENT

Environment defined as the conditions and circumstances that surround someone. All that surrounding can be living and non-living things.

IMPORTANCE OF ENVIRONMENT

Environment plays an important role in the healthy life of human beings. It matters because it provides air, food and other needs. Humanity's entire life support system depends on the well-being of all the environmental factors. Here are some importance of environment
  • To have healthy life we need fresh air, clean water and surrounding.
  • Soil as the component of environment , useful for the growth of plants which is the source of food for the animals around.
  • We obtain many medicines from the nature which cause no side effect than artificial drugs.
  • General life support.  environment contains all the resource  which sustain life.resource includes air, soil and water.
  • Natural beauty. people enjoy nature for the recreation, tourism and sports. physical landscapes, drainage features ,plants are good to look at in their natural settings.
  • Natural  resources.the environment contain diverse natural resources include the following ;
water ( for survival of all organism)
medicine (many plants used for medicine)
             clothing (produced from plants)
  • Obtain wood  as a building  and constructing materials.
  • Maintain fossil fuels.
  • Quality of air. trees produce oxygen during photosynthesis. in addition during this process trees use carbon-dioxide in the air to reduce concentration in the atmosphere.
